ROCK HALL — Applications are currently being sought for the Kent County Public Schools Ethics Panel and the Citizen Advisory Committee.

 

Three members comprise the Ethics Panel in accordance with Kent County Board of Education policy.

 

The Citizen Advisory Committee comprises two representatives for each school and two at-large members, plus one student member from Kent County High School. Two members of the Kent County Board of Education also serve on the committee as the chair and vice chair.

The Ethics Panel receives and maintains documents such as financial disclosure forms, provides advisory opinions and reviews alleged ethics violations.

 

Ethics Panel members are appointed to three-year terms. Members are eligible for reappointment.

 

Members must be residents of Kent County. Membership restrictions include current Kent County Board of Education members and school officials, employees and their spouses.

Following the application process, appointments to the Ethics Panel are confirmed by the Board of Education.

 

The Citizen Advisory Committee is a structured group that meets about specific issues impacting educational policy, activities and programs.

 

The Citizen Advisory Committee may also respond to requests from the Kent County Board of Education for research and recommendations on specific educational issues.

 

Members are appointed to two-year terms. They may serve no more than two consecutive terms.
